Hey guys! we’re back to another blog and in todays post were going to be going over an in-depth analysis about my thought process and execution for my cover page.

When creating my magazine cover for this preliminary task i knew i wanted to create a sports themed cover, specifically soccer. But keeping that in mind, how would i go about designing it in a way that would one, look appealing enough for an actual person to want to pick up and read, and two, be technically correct as to how the composition of a magazine cover should be. This proved to be quite tedious and challenging, but with enough time and motivation, i did it.

First, i had the title to think about. A big bold title is what gets an everyday person to be interested into a magazine cover, so i wanted to use a big, powerfuyl font that would take up a lot of the cover. I also wanted a bright color to add even more emphasis onto the cover, which is why i went with the color yellow. For the attention grabbing hook, i knew i wanted it to be the same color as the title so that it fit the color scheme of the page. A simple yet effective quote to draw the person even more into picking up the magazine. For the picture used, i decided to take a picture of my teammate Juan in action. It adds a visualization to stick with the readers heads and offers a great cover for the page.

Next up we have the magazine cover logo on the bottom left. The logo i wanted to make sure it was big and apparent to the viewer so that way it could be remembered by the person. They’re going to see that logo in the general public and have it remind them of a great sports magazine. For the headline, i wanted to apply a simple but sweet sentence to let the reader know what the main story of the magazine would be. I made sure to keep the font and color similar to everything else so that way it seemed cohesive.

All in all, creating my very own magazine cover from scratch proved quite difficult. I really had to sink my teeth into the nitty gritty details in order for it to become a finished product in which i can feel satisfied from. Thats all from me this post folks, stay tuned for the next blog where i will be creating my very own table of contents!!
