Hello everybody and welcome to another blog post! In todays blog, we are going to be examining the different types of magazines that there are in todays society. Magazines offer a wider source of information and entertainment for anyone who reads them. So lets take a closer look at what all of them have to offer!

In general, magazines usually fall into three subcategories of the trope:

- Professional Magazine

- General Interest Magazine

- Special Interest Magazine

Professional Magazines refer to a style of distributions that are informative to the reader. The contents within the pages are highly descriptive and full of detail specific to the category being read. Many different kinds of companies publish niche articles pertaining to different professions such as engineering or nursing, to every kind of hobby such as pottery or painting. There are also news outlets that publish their magazines and informatively construct their narratives of any news that goes on in their respective area. Overall, professional magazines fall into the informative section that descriptively provide anything that is being told.

General interest magazines are generally the most popular type of publication that you can find. They tend to cover a wide variety of subjects for the everyday person. With such general information, they are not targeted for a specific niche of audience like a professional magazine or even a specific interest magazine typically would. The New York Times is a great example of what a general interest magazine can provide.

A special interest magazine are different from general magazines as they go over topics that are more particular to a specific group of people. Like a professional magazine, they have a niche that go to the audience they are targeting. For example, lets say you were interested in the sport of basketball. A general interest magazine might go over several articles glossing over the sport, some of the best players in today’s league, latest news, etc. However, a special interest magazine might have a whole publication that goes over the intricacies of how photographers take shots of basketball players in action. Or another publication that goes over in detail of how the basketball is made.

As you can see, there is huge potential of magazines that can be made or published. Whether you want to read about the latest news or read about the species of butterflies discovered in the Himalayas. Stay tuned for the next blog where we go over the history of how these kinds of blogs were developed.
