Hi all and welcome to another blog! Today I will be discussing magazine demographics. This is the statistical data relating to the population and particular groups within it. There are all sorts of magazines that reach their audience through photographs, interviews, and entertainment news.
A prime example of a magazine that has been reaching their audience for YEARS is People Magazine, as it has an average of over 46 million people. Any brand can begin to learn how to establish themselves within their core markets. Those who read people magazine are 70% women with an age demographic of 16-45. People Magazine has the highest consumption of women readers in entertainment news today. There is a mix of contents ranging from celebrity gossip and news with human interest stories; both genders find entertainment value in these publications, and that is what gives the magazine its stability. People magazine has branched off into a spanish publication and a teen publication to further target unique readers. With its updated spanish content, they have generated 7 million readers. People magazine is primarily marketed to women, as they make up the majority of their readership. Its general interest design is what draws people from all sorts of demographics. People magazine knows their audience and what they want, therefore they provide tremendous value that remains entertaining.
Demographics are considered a necessity in the advertising industry as it helps businesses identify those who are most likely to purchase their products. The best approach, enough demographic data is collected to develop a very specific target audience character. Acceptable advertising campaigns targeting general audiences are less likely to succeed because of the difficulty in getting the message about the product across. In advertising, demographics help in creating targeted marketing campaigns that appeal to specific groups of people. Faced with the growing costs of consumer marketing, businesses increasingly rely on demographics to identify the best possible target audiences for their advertising campaigns. Since the size and preferences of different demographic groups change over time. Thank you all for joining me today and hope you learned some facts on magazine demographics!!
